Gravesites of Nerissa Casualties Washed Ashore in Scotland and IrelandCORPORAL FRANCIS GORDON HARRISON L/25614 - CORPS OF MILITARY STAFF CLERKS - CANADIAN ARMYHarrison's body washed ashore at Enniscrone, Co. Sligo on 26 May 1941. He was buried in Easky (Roslea) Church of Ireland Cemetery, Co. Sligo on 27 May 1941. Home address: 131 Elphinstone Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada [ref Martin Gleeson]. Gordon's sister Sheila Hewson very kindly sent us a photo of Gordon's gravesite taken in May 1942. Since then this gravesite has a CWGC headstone. Headstone inscription shows: L/25614 Corporal F.G. Harrison; Corps of Military Staff Clerks; Canadian Army, 30th April 1941. Age 21. Gordon is remembered in a very special way having a lake in northern Saskatchewan named after him - "Harrison Lake."
